Places to Eat in Rincón with Amazing Views

So you want to have a great meal in Rincón and take the kind of vacation selfies that will make all of your friends back home jealous? Well, we’ve put together a little list for you.

There are so many places in Rincón with spectacular views, it is almost impossible to pick one or two as the absolute best. In a town known for breathtaking sunsets, gorgeous beaches and incredible restaurants, the possibilities for dining with an unforgettable view are in no short supply.

All of these suggestions are but a starting point, because exploring the beauty of Rincón is a never ending adventure.

3. El Cerro de Juaco

View of the Calvache Valley

Our first entry on the list is a relatively new spot, nestled high in the mountains of Rincón, where you can enjoy the delectable delights of a traditional Puerto Rican lechonéra whilst taking in the mind-blowing views of the vast Calvaché mountain valley and Desechéo island.

For the first-timers, a lechonéra is a traditional Puerto Rican eatery specializing in fresh roasted pork, or ‘perníl’ as it is called in most Latin American countries. It is a bit of a drive up the mountain road, but that should not deter you. It will be one of the adventures that will make your trip truly memorable.

El Cerro de Juaco

My personal suggestion is take an early afternoon trip for a weekend brunch, and like the proverbial early bird, you will be rewarded with the freshest cuts of meat and your choice of seating. And for those of you who don’t dig on swine, their menu has plenty of other healthy and delicious options.

2. Hotel Cofresí

Poolside at the Cofresi Hotel.

The Hotel Cofresí is named after Roberto Cofresí, Puerto Rico’s most famous pirate. Cofresí gave his spoils to the impoverished, and was considered to be the Puerto Rican version of Robin Hood. Historical lessons aside, the Cofresí bar and restaurant are fantastic places to drink, dine and enjoy views of the crashing ocean waves Cofresí once sailed upon.

While the Hotel Cofresí is known for many things, including a great restaurant and a very happening bar, one attraction in particular might greatly enhance your enjoyment of the ocean views. I’m speaking of the now famous rum concoction, which is appropriately named ‘El Pirata’.

The famous ’El Pirata’

Perhaps infamous is a better way to describe it – so big that it comes in a coconut and spills over into another full cup. Enjoy one of Rincon’s famous sunsets while you sip this delightful cocktail – and then call a cab, unless of course you are staying at the Cofresí hotel.

1. The English Rose

The Infinity Pool at The English Rose

Hidden away in the mountains of Rincón, the English Rose is a hotel and restaurant famous for its gorgeous views. While you sit at your table, or your boutique hotel room, you can look out over a breathtaking mountain valley towards the deep blue Caribbean sea.

Take a turn off the 413, famously called ‘The Road to Happiness’,  just near Steps beach and travel up a winding country road for a bit until you arrive at the blue and white oasis. The journey is a bit challenging, so be cautious, but it is truly worth it.

Reserve your table now.

You will probably find all the tables full, with all of your fellow adventurers delighting in the food and atmosphere – so be sure to make a reservation. The English Rose is a fantastic place to go for breakfast and brunch, with a menu that includes the Full Monty, a traditional English breakfast, to die for French toast and freshly baked croissants.

Oh, and you can also decide to lounge by the pool all day, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. There is a small fee, but it’s well worth it.

These are just a few suggestions, as there are so many wonderful views around town. So consider this a starting point, from which you can venture out and continue to discover breathtaking views around town.
